Tommy Gale (footballer, born 1920)
Tommy Gale (1920–1997) was an English professional footballer who played as a full-back.
Career: Gale began his career at Aston Villa, signing for them in 1940, although his early playing time was significantly affected by the Second World War. He became a regular in the Villa side after the war and made over 200 league appearances for the club. A dependable and consistent player, Gale was known for his solid defensive work. He left Aston Villa in 1952.
After leaving Aston Villa, Gale played for non-league side Worcester City. He contributed to Worcester's Southern League Championship win in the 1958-59 season.
