Akademmistechko (Kyiv Metro)

Akademmistechko is the western terminus station on the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line (Line 1) of the Kyiv Metro. It is located in the Sviatoshynskyi Raion (district) of Kyiv, Ukraine, near the neighborhood of Akademmistechko (which translates to "Academic Town"), hence the station's name.

The station was opened on November 5, 1971, as part of the first stage of the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line. It is a shallow-level, column-tri-span station, meaning it features a central hall flanked by two side platforms supported by rows of columns.

Akademmistechko is a major transportation hub, serving not only the metro but also numerous bus and minibus routes connecting Kyiv with surrounding towns and suburbs. Due to its location on the edge of the city, it experiences heavy passenger traffic, particularly during peak hours.

The station's design is relatively simple, characteristic of early Kyiv Metro stations. Its walls are faced with ceramic tiles, and the floors are covered with granite. Lighting is provided by fluorescent lamps.

Passengers traveling eastbound from Akademmistechko can access key areas of Kyiv, including the city center, the Dnieper River, and the left bank districts. Westbound, the station serves as a gateway to the city and connects to various residential and industrial areas.
