Chris Leslie was born and raised in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England. He is a self-taught musician proficient in a range of instruments including fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki, cittern, banjo, ukulele, and piano accordion, as well as being a vocalist. Before joining Fairport Convention, he played in various folk bands and duos, developing a reputation for his instrumental skill and songwriting ability.

Career:

Leslie joined Fairport Convention in 1996, replacing Ric Sanders on fiddle. He has been a core member ever since, contributing significantly to the band's sound through his instrumental prowess, songwriting, and vocals. His songs have become staples of Fairport Convention's repertoire.
