Lagharai
Lagharai is a Pashtun tribe primarily found in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan, specifically in the Bajaur Agency and parts of Afghanistan bordering Pakistan. They are part of the larger Tarkani (also known as Tarkalani) tribal confederation. The Lagharai are known for their strong adherence to Pashtunwali, the traditional Pashtun code of conduct. Their history is intertwined with the history of the region, marked by periods of conflict and autonomy. Economically, they are primarily involved in agriculture and livestock rearing, although cross-border trade has also historically been important. Like other Pashtun tribes, the Lagharai have a Jirga system, a tribal council of elders, for resolving disputes and making decisions.
