Kensington and Chelsea (UK Parliament constituency)

Kensington and Chelsea is a constituency in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. It covers the majority of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London.

The constituency was created in 2017, largely replacing the former Kensington constituency and incorporating parts of the Cities of London and Westminster constituency, and the Chelsea constituency.

Historically, the area has been a Conservative stronghold, and the constituency has consistently returned Conservative MPs. However, in the 2017 general election, the Conservative majority was significantly reduced by the Labour Party candidate, Emma Dent Coad, who won the seat. This was considered a major upset.

The current Member of Parliament for Kensington and Chelsea is Felicity Buchan, who was first elected in the 2019 general election.

The constituency is known for its affluent population, high property values, and diverse communities. It encompasses areas such as Notting Hill, Knightsbridge, South Kensington, and parts of Chelsea.
