John Paul Sr. (racing driver)
John Lee Paul Sr. (born February 19, 1939, died December 15, 2020) was an American endurance racing driver. He was a prominent figure in the IMSA GT Championship during the late 1970s and early 1980s, known for his success in Porsche 935s. He achieved significant victories, including the 1982 24 Hours of Daytona and the 1980 IMSA GT Championship. His racing career was later overshadowed by legal troubles related to drug trafficking, for which he served prison time. His son, John Paul Jr., was also a racing driver.
