John Orr (bishop)
John Orr was an Irish Anglican bishop in the Church of Ireland. He served as the Bishop of Tuam, Killala and Achonry from 1930 until his death in 1951.
Orr was educated at Trinity College Dublin, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was ordained in 1892.
Prior to his episcopacy, Orr held various positions within the Church of Ireland. He served as Rector of Killeshandra, County Cavan, and later as Archdeacon of Kilmore.
He was elected Bishop of Tuam, Killala and Achonry in 1930, succeeding Bishop John Healy. His tenure as bishop saw the continuation of the work of the Church of Ireland in the western dioceses, overseeing the clergy and parishes under his jurisdiction.
John Orr died in office in 1951. He was succeeded as Bishop of Tuam, Killala and Achonry by Arthur Edward Hughes.
