Joe Morrison (field hockey)
Joe Morrison is a former field hockey player and coach. While details of his playing career are scant in publicly available records, he is primarily known for his successful coaching career. Morrison served as the head coach for the United States Women's National Field Hockey Team from 1997 to 2004. During his tenure, the team achieved notable successes, including qualifying for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, ending a 16-year Olympic drought for the U.S. women’s field hockey program. He also led the team to a silver medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. He is recognized for his contributions to the development of field hockey in the United States. After his time with the national team, Morrison continued to be involved in the sport, often working with youth programs and coaching at the club level.
