James Parker (Massachusetts politician)

James Parker (born August 22, 1768, in Charlestown, Massachusetts; died October 25, 1837, in Gardiner, Maine) was an American politician who served as a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts.

Parker graduated from Harvard University in 1788. He studied law and was admitted to the bar, commencing practice in Charlestown.

He was elected as a Federalist to the Tenth Congress (March 4, 1807 – March 3, 1809). He was not a candidate for reelection in 1808.

Following his term in Congress, Parker moved to Gardiner, Maine (then still part of Massachusetts), and engaged in mercantile pursuits. He served as a judge of the court of common pleas for Kennebec County, Maine, for many years.

He is interred in Oak Grove Cemetery, Gardiner, Maine.
