James Menzies (Wisconsin politician)
James Menzies (born August 19, 1830, died March 22, 1915) was an American businessman and politician from Wisconsin. He served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and held various local offices.
Born in Perthshire, Scotland, Menzies immigrated to the United States with his family in 1842, settling in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. He engaged in farming and later in the mercantile business.
Menzies served as chairman of the town of Brookfield and as a member of the Waukesha County Board of Supervisors. He was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1864, representing Waukesha County as a Republican. He served one term.
Following his time in the Assembly, Menzies continued to be involved in local affairs and business endeavors in Waukesha County until his death in 1915. He is buried in the Brookfield Cemetery.
