Interview (2007 film)
Interview is a 2007 American remake of Theo van Gogh's 2003 Dutch film of the same name. It was directed by Steve Buscemi, who also stars alongside Sienna Miller.
Synopsis
Pierre Peders, a cynical political journalist (Buscemi), is assigned to interview Katya, a popular soap opera actress (Miller), much to his dismay. Both initially dislike each other, viewing the other's profession with disdain. As the interview progresses, secrets are revealed, blurring the lines between truth and fiction and revealing vulnerabilities beneath their public personas. The film unfolds primarily in Katya's loft apartment over the course of a single night, exploring themes of identity, loneliness, and the superficiality of fame.
Cast
- Steve Buscemi as Pierre Peders

Production
The film was shot on a low budget and largely improvised, with Buscemi and Miller collaborating on the dialogue and character development. It was one of three remakes of Van Gogh's films following his assassination in 2004.
Reception
Interview received mixed reviews. Miller's performance was generally praised, but some critics found the film to be stagey and lacking in depth compared to the original. While some appreciated its intimate and character-driven approach, others found it slow-paced and ultimately unfulfilling.
