Men Behaving Badly (American TV series)
Men Behaving Badly was an American television sitcom that aired on NBC from 1996 to 1997 and later in syndication. It was an adaptation of the British sitcom of the same name, Men Behaving Badly.
The series revolved around the lives of two immature and often irresponsible roommates, Kevin Turvey (played by Rob Schneider in the first season, and Ron Eldard in the second) and Jamie Coleman (played by Judd Nelson). The show followed their attempts to navigate relationships, work, and everyday life, typically with a heavy dose of crude humor and immature antics. Dina Spivak (played by Justine Bateman) was Kevin's long-suffering girlfriend, often exasperated by his childish behavior, while Brenda Mikowski (played by Julia Campbell) played Jamie's girlfriend.
Despite its pedigree as an adaptation of a popular British show, the American version of Men Behaving Badly was not well-received by critics or audiences. It suffered from inconsistent writing and attempts to Americanize the humor, which often resulted in a diluted version of the original's edgier content. The show underwent several changes, including recasting Rob Schneider after the first season. It was ultimately canceled after two seasons due to low ratings. The show is primarily remembered as a failed attempt to translate a successful British sitcom for an American audience.
