Hyun Bin

Hyun Bin (Korean: 현빈, born Kim Tae-pyung on September 25, 1982) is a South Korean actor. He gained widespread recognition for his leading roles in television dramas such as My Name is Kim Sam-soon (2005), Secret Garden (2010–2011), Memories of the Alhambra (2018–2019), and Crash Landing on You (2019–2020).

Early Life and Education:

Hyun Bin was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He graduated from Chung-Ang University with a degree in Theater Studies.

Career:

Hyun Bin made his acting debut in the 2003 television drama Bodyguard. His breakthrough role came in 2005 with the romantic comedy My Name is Kim Sam-soon, which became a major hit. He continued to star in a variety of dramas and films, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

His notable works include the films A Millionaire's First Love (2006), Late Autumn (2010), The Swindlers (2017), Rampant (2018), and Negotiation (2018). In addition to My Name is Kim Sam-soon and Secret Garden, his other successful television dramas include Worlds Within (2008), Friend, Our Legend (2009), Hyde, Jekyll, Me (2015), and Crash Landing on You.

He has received numerous awards for his acting, including Baeksang Arts Awards, and consistently ranks high in popularity polls.

Personal Life:

Hyun Bin enlisted in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps in 2011 and completed his mandatory military service in 2012. In March 2022, he married actress Son Ye-jin, with whom he starred in Crash Landing on You and the film Negotiation. They welcomed their first child in November 2022.
