Huisne
The Huisne is a river in France, a left tributary of the Sarthe. It flows through the regions of Centre-Val de Loire and Pays de la Loire. Its source is near La Perrière, in the Orne department. The Huisne flows generally south, passing through towns such as La Ferté-Bernard and Le Mans, before joining the Sarthe near Pontlieue, a suburb of Le Mans. The river is approximately 161 kilometers (100 miles) in length. It has historically been used for milling and, to a lesser extent, navigation. The Huisne valley is also known for its agricultural lands and contributes to the local ecosystem.
