Liz Smith (politician)

Liz Smith (born c. 1964) is a Scottish Conservative Party politician. She has been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Mid Scotland and Fife since 2016.

Smith served as a councillor on Perth and Kinross Council prior to her election to the Scottish Parliament. She was elected on the Mid Scotland and Fife regional list in the 2016 Scottish Parliament election and re-elected in 2021.

In the Scottish Parliament, Smith has held various shadow cabinet positions within the Scottish Conservative Party, including Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform and Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance. Her political interests include rural affairs, the economy, and education. She has been a vocal critic of the Scottish Government's policies in these areas.
