Hornnes

Hornnes is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sørlandet. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Evje.

The municipality was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was originally much larger, but it was divided on 1 January 1886, when the municipality of Evje og Vegusdal was created from its southern part.

Hornnes is bordered to the north by Bygland, to the east by Froland, to the south by Evje og Hornnes, and to the west by Åseral.

The main industries in Hornnes are agriculture, forestry, and tourism. The Setesdal Line railroad used to run through the municipality. The river Otra flows through Hornnes.
