Excalibur (wrestler)
Excalibur is the ring name of an American professional wrestling commentator and retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his work with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), a promotion he co-founded, and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he currently serves as a lead commentator.
While primarily known for his commentary work since the late 2000s, Excalibur was an active professional wrestler from 2000 to 2009. During his in-ring career, he wrestled primarily in independent promotions, including PWG, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), and Ring of Honor (ROH). He often teamed with Super Dragon and Disco Machine, forming a well-regarded trio. His in-ring style was known for incorporating lucha libre influences.
Following his retirement from in-ring competition due to recurring injuries, Excalibur transitioned to commentary, becoming a prominent voice in the independent wrestling scene. He gained significant recognition for his knowledgeable and enthusiastic commentary style, often incorporating a wide range of wrestling terminology and historical references.
In 2019, Excalibur joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a commentator, becoming a regular presence on their weekly television shows, AEW Dynamite, AEW Rampage, and AEW Collision, as well as pay-per-view events. He is considered a key member of the AEW broadcast team.
Excalibur is known for wearing a mask throughout his career, both during his time as a wrestler and while commentating. The mask has become a signature part of his persona. His real name is not publicly known and is generally not discussed out of respect for his preference for anonymity.
