Paul Birch (footballer, born 1968)
Paul Birch (born 14 January 1968) is an English former professional footballer. He played as a midfielder.
Birch began his career as a youth player at Aston Villa, turning professional in 1986. He made his league debut for Villa in 1987 and went on to make over 100 league appearances for the club.
In 1991, Birch moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported fee of £650,000. He spent several seasons at Wolves, becoming a key player in midfield.
After leaving Wolves, Birch played for a number of other clubs including Stockport County, Doncaster Rovers, and Rushden & Diamonds.
Following his playing career, Birch has worked in coaching and scouting roles.
