Henstead
Henstead is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. It is located approximately 6 miles (10 km) north-east of Beccles and 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Lowestoft. The parish is primarily rural, consisting of agricultural land and scattered residential properties.
Historically, Henstead has been a small agricultural community. The village church, dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin, dates back to the medieval period and contains features of architectural interest. The parish forms part of the Hundred of Mutford and Lothingland.
The population of Henstead is relatively small. At the 2011 census, the population was recorded as 425. The village offers a limited range of local amenities, with residents typically relying on nearby towns such as Beccles and Lowestoft for shopping, services, and employment. The A146 road passes nearby, providing access to the wider region.
Henstead is also the name of a Hundred, an administrative division of Suffolk historically, within which the parish resides.
