Art Reid

Art Reid is a former American football player who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was a defensive back, primarily a safety, known for his hard-hitting style.

Reid played college football at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After a successful collegiate career, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 1978 NFL Draft.

He spent the majority of his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, playing from 1978 to 1984. During his time with the Eagles, he was a key member of their defense, contributing to their Super Bowl XV appearance in 1981. Reid was known for his aggressive tackling and ability to provide run support from the safety position.

After his time with the Eagles, Reid played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 1985. His NFL career ended after that season. Following his playing career, Reid has remained involved in various community and charitable endeavors.
