B.A.T. (video game)
B.A.T. (an acronym for Bureau of Astral Troubleshooters) is a cyberpunk-themed adventure game developed by Computer's Dream and published by U.S. Gold in 1990. The game was released for Amiga, Atari ST, and DOS platforms.
The player assumes the role of a rookie agent within the B.A.T. organization, tasked with solving a series of increasingly complex crimes in a futuristic metropolis. Gameplay involves exploration, interrogation, puzzle-solving, and combat.
B.A.T. is notable for its blend of adventure game mechanics with action elements. Players navigate environments, interact with non-player characters, and manage resources such as energy and equipment. Combat is turn-based, with the player selecting actions from a menu.
The game's setting is heavily influenced by cyberpunk aesthetics, featuring themes of corporate control, technological augmentation, and urban decay.
A sequel, B.A.T. II - Koshan Conspiracy, was released in 1992.
