Henry Lowry-Corry (1845–1927)

Henry Lowry-Corry (1845–1927) was a British civil servant. He was born on 14 October 1845, the son of Henry William Lowry-Corry and Lady Harriet Anne Ashley-Cooper.

Lowry-Corry served in the British Civil Service for many years, primarily at the Local Government Board. He rose through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Board, a position he held from 1898 to 1908. In this role, he was responsible for advising the government on matters relating to public health, poor law administration, and local government.

He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in 1892, and a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB) in 1898.

Henry Lowry-Corry married Alice Katherine Greg in 1876. He died on 1 November 1927. His career reflected a significant period of development in British social policy and public administration.
