Joe Goddard (baseball)

Joe Goddard (born December 27, 1942) is a former professional baseball player. He played as an outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Washington Senators/Texas Rangers (1969-1971) and the California Angels (1972).

Goddard was signed by the Washington Senators as an amateur free agent in 1965. Before reaching the majors, he played in their farm system and those of the Chicago White Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He made his MLB debut on September 1, 1969, with the Senators.

Over the course of his career, Goddard appeared in 245 games, compiling a .237 batting average, with 10 home runs and 46 RBIs. He had 12 stolen bases and a fielding percentage of .975. He was primarily a reserve outfielder.

Following his playing career, Goddard has remained involved in baseball through coaching and scouting.
