Nii Station (Mie)
Nii Station (丹生駅, Nii-eki) is a railway station on the Kisei Main Line in Taiki, Watarai District, Mie Prefecture, Japan, operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central).
Location and Layout
The station is situated in a rural area of Taiki, near the border with Owase. It has a single side platform serving bi-directional traffic. The platform is connected to a small station building via a level crossing. The station is unstaffed.
History
Nii Station opened on December 19, 1923, as a station on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR). The JGR became the Japanese National Railways (JNR) after World War II. With the privatization of JNR on April 1, 1987, the station came under the control of JR Central.
Surrounding Area
The station is located near the Kushida River. The surrounding area is primarily agricultural with some scattered residential buildings.
