José Orúe
José Orúe (born 1939, died 2014) was a Spanish football (soccer) player and manager. He primarily played as a defender.
Orúe spent the majority of his playing career with Athletic Bilbao, a club known for its Basque-only policy. He was a key member of the team during the 1960s, winning the Copa del Generalísimo (now Copa del Rey) in 1969.
After retiring as a player, Orúe transitioned into coaching. He also managed Athletic Bilbao during the 1970s. Beyond his time at Bilbao, he managed other Spanish clubs as well, though his career is mostly associated with his playing days at the Basque club. He is considered a legendary player for Athletic Bilbao, respected for his loyalty and defensive contributions.
