Bruce Robinson (baseball)

Bruce Robinson (born February 15, 1951) is a former professional baseball player. He was a catcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics (1978-1980) and the Texas Rangers (1980-1981).

Robinson was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 3rd round of the 1972 MLB January Draft-Regular Phase from Compton Community College (Compton, CA). He spent several years in the minor leagues before making his major league debut with the Athletics on September 6, 1978.

Over his four-year MLB career, Robinson played in 124 games, compiling a .212 batting average with 3 home runs and 28 RBIs. He was primarily a backup catcher. He threw and batted right-handed, standing 6'1" tall and weighing 195 pounds.
