Hans Meiser (journalist)

Hans Meiser (10 August 1946 – 30 October 2023) was a German television presenter and journalist. He is best known for hosting the talk show "Hans Meiser," which aired on RTL from 1992 to 2001. This program was considered a pioneering format in German television, focusing on everyday people and their personal stories.

Meiser began his career in journalism at the Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR) radio station. He later worked for RTL Radio, where he also held managerial positions. His move to television brought him nationwide fame and recognition.

Following the end of his talk show, Meiser worked on various television projects, often with smaller broadcasters. He also became involved in radio again.

In his later years, Meiser's public image was affected by his association with controversial websites and viewpoints, leading to criticism and distancing from some of his earlier colleagues. These affiliations contributed to a decline in his standing in the media landscape.
