Guram Sagaradze (wrestler)

Guram Sagaradze (born January 1, 1929, in Georgia, died January 13, 2003) was a Georgian wrestler who competed for the Soviet Union. He specialized in freestyle wrestling and is most known for his achievements in the heavyweight division. Sagaradze represented the Soviet Union at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, where he won a bronze medal. He also won a silver medal at the 1954 World Wrestling Championships. Sagaradze was a prominent figure in Soviet wrestling during the 1950s, contributing significantly to the country's success in the sport. He was a Merited Master of Sports of the USSR. After retiring from competition, he worked as a wrestling coach and administrator, contributing to the development of wrestling in Georgia.
