John Brookes (footballer, born 1943)

John Brookes (born 29 September 1943) is an English former professional footballer who played as a winger.

Brookes began his career with Port Vale, making his debut in September 1961. He played regularly for the club in the mid-1960s before moving to Shrewsbury Town in 1966. He went on to play for Walsall, later returning to Port Vale for a second spell. After leaving Port Vale again, he played non-league football for Stafford Rangers.
