Rumble (2021 film)
Rumble is a 2021 American computer-animated sports comedy film directed by Hamish Grieve. Produced by Paramount Animation, WWE Studios, and Reel FX Animation Studios, the film is based on the 2013 novel Monster on the Hill by Rob Harrell.
The film takes place in a world where monster wrestling is a global sport. The story follows Winnie, a young woman who aspires to follow in her father's footsteps as a wrestling coach. She teams up with Steve, an inexperienced but enthusiastic monster, with the goal of transforming him into a champion wrestler and saving their town's wrestling arena.
The voice cast includes Will Arnett, Geraldine Viswanathan, Terry Crews, Stephen A. Smith, Jimmy Tatro, Ben Schwartz, Tony Danza, and Susan Kelechi Watson.
Rumble was initially slated for a theatrical release in 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Paramount Pictures sold the distribution rights to Netflix. It was released on Paramount+ in December 2021.
