Gone West (band)
Gone West was an American country pop group composed of Colbie Caillat, Justin Young, Jason Reeves, and Nelly Joy. The group was formed in 2018 and announced its breakup in August 2020.
All four members were established songwriters prior to forming the group. Caillat, best known for her solo pop career, and Young were married. Reeves and Joy were also married.
Gone West released their debut EP, Tides, in 2019 and their debut album, Canyons, in 2020 via Triple Tigers Records. The album featured the singles "What Could've Been" and "Gone West." Their music blended country instrumentation with pop sensibilities, showcasing strong harmonies and melodic songwriting.
The band toured extensively, opening for artists such as Kenny Chesney.
The band cited personal reasons for their disbandment, though speculation also surrounded the subsequent divorce of Colbie Caillat and Justin Young. Despite their short tenure, Gone West gained a following for their catchy songs and collaborative energy.
