HMS Dolphin (1813)
HMS Dolphin was a Royal Navy 10-gun Cherokee-class brig-sloop launched in 1813. She served primarily during the latter stages of the Napoleonic Wars and afterwards in peacetime roles.
Built by Chatham Dockyard, Dolphin was commissioned in September 1813 under Commander George Pigot for service in the English Channel. She participated in convoy escort duties and patrolled against privateers.
Following the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815, Dolphin continued in service, albeit in less active roles. She was often employed on survey and coastal patrol duties around the British Isles.
In the 1820s, Dolphin underwent a refit. Following this refit, she was deployed to the Mediterranean Station. She served there for several years, primarily engaged in suppressing piracy in the region.
Dolphin was eventually paid off and sold out of service.
