Line 2 (O-Train)
Line 2 (O-Train) is a light rail transit (LRT) line in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, operated by OC Transpo. It is part of the O-Train network, along with Line 1 (Confederation Line). Line 2, also known as the Trillium Line, runs primarily north-south along a railway right-of-way.
Initially a diesel-powered line, it underwent an expansion and conversion to electric operation. The expanded line extends further north to Limebank Road in the south, and to Bayview Station in the north, providing connections to Line 1. The route serves key destinations including Carleton University, the Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (via a bus connection at South Keys Station), and various residential and commercial areas.
The line is intended to provide increased north-south transit capacity within the city, complementing the east-west Line 1. The electric version of Line 2 began operations in November 2023 after numerous delays, and is part of Ottawa's larger plan to expand its light rail network.
