Andal (crater)

Andal is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the northwest of the Mare Ingenii, within the outer skirt of ejecta surrounding the immense crater Apollo.

This crater is roughly circular with a well-defined rim that has suffered only minor wear. The inner walls slope down to a relatively flat interior floor. There is a small craterlet lying on the floor near the eastern inner wall. A few other tiny craterlets mark the interior.

The crater is named after the Indian Tamil poet and Alvar saint, Andal.
