David George (cyclist)

David George (born February 21, 1976 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa) is a former professional road racing cyclist. He competed primarily in mountain biking and road cycling events throughout his career. George represented South Africa at the Olympic Games in both disciplines.

George achieved notable success in mountain biking, earning multiple national championships. He was also a member of the South African road cycling team.

In 2012, George tested positive for Erythropoietin (EPO) and admitted to doping. He received a two-year ban from competition. Following the ban, he transitioned into coaching and cycling-related business ventures.
