Fracket

Fracket, a portmanteau of "frat" and "jacket," refers to the practice, primarily among college students, of wearing an old, often inexpensive jacket to parties or social gatherings where it is highly likely to be lost, stolen, damaged, or discarded. The purpose is to avoid potential loss or damage to a more expensive or valued jacket. Frackets are considered disposable articles of clothing in the context of a particular social environment. The practice is most common where alcohol consumption is prevalent and personal belongings are more vulnerable to being misplaced.
