Pingxiang

Pingxiang is a prefecture-level city in western Jiangxi province, People's Republic of China. It is situated near the border with Hunan province. Historically and economically, Pingxiang is significant due to its rich coal resources and its strategic location connecting Jiangxi and Hunan.

History:

Pingxiang has a history dating back to the Han Dynasty. Throughout various dynasties, it served as an important transportation hub. The city played a role in the Anyuan miners' strike of the early 20th century, an event significant in the history of the Chinese Communist Party.
