Ivo Smoje

Ivo Smoje (Zagreb, April 20, 1919 – Zagreb, August 15, 1984) was a prominent Croatian writer, screenwriter, playwright, humorist, and journalist. He is best known for his contributions to Croatian television and theater, particularly his humorous and satirical depictions of everyday life in Zagreb.

Smoje began his career as a journalist, writing for various Croatian newspapers and magazines. His writing style was characterized by wit, irony, and a keen observation of human nature. He transitioned to screenwriting and playwriting, achieving significant success in both mediums.

His most notable works include the television series "Naše malo misto" ("Our Little Place"), a popular sitcom set in a Dalmatian village, which he co-wrote. He also wrote and co-wrote the screenplay for the film "Ritam zločina" ("The Rhythm of Crime") directed by Zoran Tadić.
