Mina (1964 album)
Mina, also known as Mina N. 5, is an Italian studio album by singer Mina, released in December 1964 by Ri-Fi. It is Mina's fifth studio album and followed the success of her previous records.
The album features a mix of original songs written for Mina, covers of international hits translated into Italian, and traditional Italian songs. It showcases Mina's vocal versatility and her ability to interpret a variety of genres, including pop, jazz, and chanson. Notable tracks include "È l'uomo per me" (the Italian version of "He's the Boy"), "Un bacio è troppo poco", and "Non illuderti". The album was a commercial success, further solidifying Mina's status as one of Italy's leading female singers.
The album's arrangements and orchestra direction were primarily by Bruno Canfora, with some tracks arranged by other notable Italian composers and conductors of the time. It contributed significantly to the Italian popular music scene of the 1960s and remains a classic example of Mina's early work.
