Nomentano

Nomentano is a district (quartiere) of Rome, Italy. It is designated as Quartiere II and is located in the northeastern part of the city, outside the Aurelian Walls.

History:

The name "Nomentano" derives from the ancient Via Nomentana, a Roman road that passed through the area, leading to the ancient city of Nomentum (modern Mentana). The district was officially established in 1911 and underwent significant urban development in the early 20th century.

Geography and Urban Planning:

Nomentano is characterized by a mix of residential and commercial areas. It is bordered by several other Roman districts, including Salario, Trieste, and Tiburtino.
