Ginkūnai

Ginkūnai is a village in Šiauliai District Municipality, Šiauliai County, Lithuania. It is located approximately 7 kilometers northeast of the city of Šiauliai.

Historically, Ginkūnai is known for its connection to the Chodkiewicz family, a prominent noble family of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and later the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The family owned estates in the area and played a significant role in the region's development.

Today, Ginkūnai is primarily an agricultural area, though its proximity to Šiauliai has led to some residential development. The village has a population of several hundred residents. It features basic infrastructure, including a church, a school, and some local businesses. The surrounding landscape is characterized by open fields and small forests typical of the Lithuanian countryside.
