Virgin Island (film)
Virgin Island is a 1958 British adventure drama film directed by Pat Jackson and starring John Cassavetes and Virginia Maskell. The film tells the story of an American writer, Phillip McClean (Cassavetes), who buys a small, uninhabited island in the Virgin Islands. He plans to live a solitary existence and write a book. He hires a local woman, Ruth (Maskell), to help him build a house. Over time, Phillip and Ruth fall in love and decide to marry. However, they face challenges adapting to each other's cultures and personalities, as well as the difficulties of island life. The film explores themes of cultural differences, love, and the challenges of adapting to a new environment. It was filmed on location in the Virgin Islands.
