George Wells (wrestler)

George Wells (born March 13, 1951, died November 26, 2010) was a Canadian professional wrestler best known for his appearances in Stampede Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in the 1980s. He was nicknamed "Outlaw" George Wells.

Wells began his wrestling career in the late 1970s, gaining experience in various Canadian promotions before finding success in Stampede Wrestling, based in Calgary, Alberta. His size and strength, combined with his charismatic personality, made him a popular figure.

In 1985, Wells joined the WWF, where he was primarily used as a jobber to the stars. Despite not achieving major championship success, he became a recognizable figure to wrestling fans. He was known for his signature move, the running powerslam, and his pre-match ritual of blowing air out of his mouth while flexing his muscles.

Some of his notable feuds and matches in the WWF included encounters against Nikolai Volkoff, King Kong Bundy, and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. He also participated in the WWF's WrestleMania 2 in 1986, competing in a battle royal.

Following his WWF run, Wells continued to wrestle on the independent circuit and eventually retired from professional wrestling. He passed away in 2010.
