George Thorpe (footballer)

George Thorpe (born circa 1882, date of death unknown) was an English professional footballer who played as a left half.

Thorpe began his career at Mansfield Town before joining Notts County in 1904. He made 51 league appearances for Notts County between 1904 and 1906, scoring once. He then moved to Leicester Fosse (later Leicester City) in 1906, where he played for several seasons. Records indicate he made 93 league appearances and scored 3 goals for Leicester Fosse/City. His playing career is believed to have ended sometime before or during World War I. Further details regarding his later life and career are currently undocumented.
