French ship Trident (1811)

The Trident was a 74-gun ship of the line of the French Navy, launched in 1811. She was built in Brest to the plans of the Téméraire class, designed by Jacques-Noël Sané.

Details regarding her service history are sparse, however, ships of this era typically participated in fleet actions, convoy escort, and patrols. As a ship of the line, the Trident's primary role would have been in large-scale naval battles. Given her launch date relatively late in the Napoleonic Wars, her opportunities for significant engagements would have been limited. The end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815 significantly reduced naval activity.

Further research is needed to determine specific details of her operational deployments, commanding officers, and eventual fate. Available records may be incomplete or dispersed across various naval archives.
