Franchi LF-57
The Franchi LF-57 is a submachine gun designed and manufactured by Luigi Franchi S.p.A. of Italy starting in 1957. It utilizes a simple blowback operating system and fires from an open bolt. The LF-57 is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and feeds from box magazines typically holding 40 rounds. Key features include a tubular receiver, a perforated heat shield around the barrel, and a folding metal stock. It was designed with military and law enforcement applications in mind. While primarily used by Italian forces, small quantities were also exported. The LF-57 is considered a relatively simple and robust weapon, but its design is dated compared to more modern submachine guns.
