Yendi (novel)
Yendi is a fantasy novel by Terry Pratchett, published in 1996 as the sixth Discworld novel. It is part of the Rincewind series.
The story revolves around the hapless wizard Rincewind being sent to Genua to tutor a young wizard, Ipslore the Red, the youngest son of the (by now deceased) despotic ruler. Rincewind soon discovers that Ipslore is attempting to summon a demon, specifically the Yendi, a powerful and potentially malevolent Djinn.
The novel deals with themes of destiny, manipulation, and the dangers of unchecked power. As with many Discworld novels, Yendi also features satire and humor, lampooning elements of fantasy tropes and political intrigue. It explores the repercussions of meddling with forces beyond one's understanding and the importance of making informed choices.
