Eric Reid
Eric Reid (born December 10, 1991) is an American football safety who last played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he earned All-American honors.
Reid was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played for the 49ers from 2013 to 2017, earning Pro Bowl honors in his rookie season.
In 2018, Reid signed with the Carolina Panthers. He played for the Panthers for two seasons before becoming a free agent.
Reid is known for his advocacy and activism against racial injustice. While playing for the 49ers, he joined teammate Colin Kaepernick in kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequality. This action led to significant controversy and discussion regarding player protests and their impact.
