Empress (provincial electoral district)
Empress was a provincial electoral district in the Canadian province of Alberta, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first-past-the-post voting system. The district existed between 1930 and 1971.
The constituency was created in 1930 from parts of the dissolved electoral districts of Bow Valley, Gleichen, and Acadia. It covered a geographically large area in southeastern Alberta, generally encompassing the towns and rural areas surrounding Empress.
Empress was abolished in 1971 and its territory was redistributed into the electoral districts of Drumheller, Little Bow, and Medicine Hat-Redcliff.
