Eli Savit

Eli Savit is an American lawyer and politician serving as the Prosecutor for Lucas County, Ohio. He was elected in November 2020 and assumed office in January 2021.

Prior to becoming prosecutor, Savit served as a public interest lawyer, specializing in civil rights and consumer protection. He worked for the firms of Gupta Wessler PLLC and Messerman & Stilp Ltd. He also taught at the University of Michigan Law School.

Savit's policy platform during his campaign focused on criminal justice reform, including reducing racial disparities in the criminal justice system, prioritizing violent crime prosecution, and diverting low-level offenders into treatment programs. He has also advocated for data-driven decision-making in prosecutorial practices.
